Institute of Therapies for Emotional Transformation: Creative Dance and Movement.
Author:Karen Daniel
URL:http://www.emotional-transformation.com.au/dance.html
Summary:This workshop, called “Dancing in the Stillness” focuses on enhancing self awareness and reconnecting with their “Innermost Being of Essence” by loosening the body and moving freely to release stress and tension. They have found that by using motion and dance to express themselves, allows them to reach a depth and authenticity of expression that is hard to accomplish with words. This shows that dance is a very important outlet for emotional pain because these types of workshops are directed toward all types of people and not just people who have experiences with psychopathology, and the participants have all experienced psychological relief through dance.

Creative Movement and Dance in Early Childhood Education
Author:Gisela Loeffler
URL:http://www.cfcefc.ca/docs/cccf/00013_en.htm.
Summary:In this article, Loeffler discusses the importance of creative dancing starting in early childhood development. During the ages of two and seven, language vocabulary increases along with their dance vocabulary. It is important to also teach children their dance vocabulary because it’s at the age where they pick up many traits and carry it along with them the rest of their lives. It gives them the ability to express themselves through movement than just words. This relates to my life because I strongly remember what happened to me during my childhood. I was an observer and learned things a lot quicker than I do now. Even when I was four year old I learned songs with movement. At Hebrew school we learned Hebrew songs. We did movements to help teach us what they meant. Till this day I remember the songs we learned.

Earth Day Celebration: Earth Dance
Author: Hough-Garlie, J.
URL:http://www.lessonplanspage.com/LAEarthDayEarthDance13.htm
Summary: This is a lesson plan for an Earth Day activity. Jodi uses the book Earth Dance and freeze dance. She then takes the book sentences and the students have to take the words and dance/act them out, while still being able to listen to the command freeze. This is a great tool because it incorporates between, language arts, science/environment, dance and literature. I think this is a good tool because it allows learning as well as physical movement and the testing of listening skill and concept understanding.
