Summary:In this study, the use of creative dance was employed on 12 patients who needed psychiatric help in an effort to enhance variables such as body image and self concept, as well as decrease the effects of antisocial behavior. Techniques were used such as various exercise games, and activities which helped learn factors such as space, time, force and flow. Results proved consistent with their hypothesis and showed that there were significant differences on self-concept and highly recommended this type of therapy. This study shows me that dance can access many parts of the human condition and can be relevant to many areas of psychology.
